Biography
Jean-Éric Vergne is one of the four French drivers who will be competing in the 2013 Formula One Championship. He made his debut in motorsports at four years old in Go-Kart. He won his first championship at 11 years old and was name European vice-champion in 2005.
In 2007, Vergne moved up to single-seater racing, joining the French Formula Renault Campus series which he won at the first attempt. Then, the following season he joined the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 West European Cup. In 2009, he finished vice-champion of both of these championship while having Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas as team-mate.
In 2010 Vergne moved to British F3 Championship and made some small appearance in Formula Renault 3.5 where he won four races out of six. Following these results, he is asked to participate to some tests with Toro Rosso. It is in 2012 that he really jumped in Formula One wearing the Toro Rosso uniform. This year, he will be driving the car number 17 with his team mate Daniel Ricciardo.
